A couple of weeks ago, during one of our company calls, my boss asked a pretty straightforward question: "What’s your goal for this year?"
Without overthinking it, I told him I wanted to build my own personal brand.
I’m already out there in small ways. I post on LinkedIn from time to time and I’m used to writing KB articles for work, but I’ve realized that a personal blog is a better way to really find my own voice and be present online. So, I made a promise to myself to be more out there and create more content.
But let’s be real. Starting isn’t the hardest part. It’s staying consistent.
I chose Consistency as my theme for the year because I wanted a goal that was easy to measure. For me, success looks like a clear rhythm:
Posting on social media at least once a week.
Preparing one KB article a month.
Writing a post for this blog every two months.
Now, I’d love to say I’ve been hitting these targets perfectly every single time, but life has a way of getting in the middle of your plans. Consistency is tough. There are weeks when the schedule slips or work gets intense, and suddenly that "simple" goal feels a lot heavier.
I’m not here to pretend I’ve mastered it yet. I’m doing my best, and even when I miss a beat, I haven’t forgotten the goal. To me, being consistent isn't about being perfect; it’s about not giving up when things get messy. It’s about answering to myself and making sure that by the end of the year, I can look back at my progress, no matter how small it might seem, and know that I kept showing up.
This blog post is me showing up. It’s the first checkmark on the list, and I’m looking forward to keeping the momentum going.
Anyway, that is all I can say for now. My dog is currently barking up at me because he wants to play, so I think that’s my cue to wrap this up.
See you in the next one!
